Todays Project Is....

This last Sunday I was released from being the Relief Society president and called to be a Primary teacher for the 6 year old class. Since I retired from the City of Mesa, I have had really busy callings in the church, so Monday came rolling along and there wasn't much to do. I kind of sat around the house and just enjoyed the day, and that's how it has been the past week. My sweet husband thought I was going into some kind of depression cause when he got home from work, there I was, laying on the couch watching TV. I told him I wasn't used to not having anything to do and that in a few weeks I would get my groove going and wouldn't miss the down time at all. Besides, while he is gone I keep busy and rarely have the TV on at all. So he decided that I needed a project to do while he was at work.

Yes, he picked oranges off our tree and had me juice and freeze them. Andy came home from school and asked if he could help, so in about an hour we had a large pitcher, and 6 quart size freezer bags full of fresh orange juice. I am really hoping that he doesn't want me to juice lemons cause the tree is full of them!
This past week I went with Peanut to pick out silk flowers for her wedding bouquet, boutonnieres, and the mom corsages. Thanks to my friend Wendi, she was able to get an okay from one of her friends to use her company name and get the flowers at wholesale. The flower designer at the warehouse was able to help us get some really pretty flowers along with fillers for the arrangement. She is even adding some "bling" to the bouquet, which Peanut loves. When it is done, I will post a picture of them.
Well I best be off, cause I am sure that if Tommy catches me goofing off, he'll find another project for me to do. Got to love him!!

Random Thoughts

I finished painting my spare bedroom, which really is just a junk room. Why did I paint it if it is just a junk room, you might ask? Well I'm kind of weird that way. For some reason, even though junk finds it way into the room, it looks so much better painted than the ugly, flat, white paint. My goal is to have it all organized with extra shelving so that when Peanut and Andy are married, they will have a place to store all their wedding gifts. Oh, did I tell you, yes, they will be living with us. Which brings me to my next HUGE project....Andy's room. Does the name porky pig bring any vision to your mind? I love him, but his room is a pig sty! Maybe I'll just wait and let Peanut deal with it. Would that be mean? Would I have set the stage for them to have a big, huge fight? Maybe.

I think I have a touch of spring fever this week. All I want to do is sit outside and read a book, or sit out in the sun and try to get some color to my white legs. I need to find a good book to read. Anyone have any suggestions? Too bad I am not rich and could travel to Europe or some other exotic place. Wouldn't that be great!

Anybody out there want to buy an oak bookcase for $40.00? I posted it on Craigs list but I thought why not put it out on my blog too. If you're interested, leave me a comment and I'll contact you.

Well as I sit here wasting time, because you know the spring fever thing, I am feeling a bit guilty because I am not engaged in doing something. I'm sure if I sit here a little longer that feeling will pass. Have a great spring break!

Head Hurts

Did and didn't have a fun day today. Last week, Andy got sick with a cold and I think I have been trying to catch it from him. So today I sat around and did NADA! I have listed the pros and cons of not doing anything today.

Con - Didn't exercise today or walk the dog.
Pro - Stayed in my pj's until noon.

Con - Didn't finish painting and getting the spare bedroom organized.
Pro - Got caught up on all the TV shows I had on the DVR. There were way too many!

Con - Ate a very large portion of buttered popcorn, and then my head hurt worse.
Pro - Had a couple of pieces of chocolate and that made me feel better.

Con - Really needed to work on Relief Society stuff, but I watched way too much TV.
Pro - Went to Enrichment and felt like that was enough Relief Society for one day.

Hopefully tomorrow, or should I say today since it is already past midnight, I will have a more productive day. I have this anxiety that with a wedding coming up in June that time is running out. In the middle of April, I have a cousin coming from out of town to stay with me and my guest room needs to be gutted and cleaned. However, that can't happen until I get the painting done in the upstairs bedroom. I also need to look for a dress to wear at the wedding reception, a dress or skirt to wear the day they get married, and a dress or skirt to wear when they go through the temple. I also would like to get Andy's bedroom repainted and cleaned out before they move into that room. Oh, so much to do and so little time. No wonder my head hurts!
