Roosevelt 2009

Every year for about the last 12 years, we have been going to Roosevelt Lake over Presidents Day weekend with our good friends The Lemieux's. We stay in the housing that was built when the dam on the lake was constructed. So, it is not a fancy place, and they have made a lot of improvements to the houses and the recreation room, but it is fun and relaxing. Mostly we eat, watch movies, eat, go for short hikes, eat, play games, eat, and then eat some more. We eat stuff we can't afford to eat all the time because;
1-because we would all weigh 300 lbs. each, and
2-we can't afford to spend that much in groceries.
We have stuff like rib eye steaks, shrimp scampi, crescent rolls, brownies and ice cream, roast, chorizo burros, cheese crisps, apple crisp with ice cream, root beer floats, etc... (you get the idea!) And that isn't even mentioning the snacks.
The kids stay up until the wee hours of the morning playing xbox, or the wii, while us old folks make it to 10:00 and then off to bed we go. Every year we keep thinking that as our kids get older, get married, start having their own families that they won't want to come the next year. However, they all seem to want to keep coming. Soon we will outgrow the 2 houses we rent.
Attached are some pictures from this years fun weekend.
