San Antonio and Other Events

It's been FOREVER since I have blogged and I really don't have much to write about. However, I took a trip to see one of my BFF's. Ginger lives in San Angello, Texas and really wishes that she lived back in Colorado. The weather is very similar to ours except that it is a tad cooler, but more humid. I just happened to arrive when the weather was in the low 90's and was not all that bad. Arizona was still experiencing 108 to 110 degrees. It has been at least 20 years since I have seen her, and it was just like we had never been apart! We had so much fun!

This picture was taken the day I left. Her son was suppose to cut the grass and he kept putting it off, so I went ahead and took the picture anyway. But I really love the neighborhood she lives in and all the brick work on her house.

Every morning we would either go to the gym on the air force base, or go for a 4 mile walk. I decided to take my camera and got a picture of one of the homes we passed by. I would love to live in this house, but then I don't want the mortgage payment and I don't want to clean it!

We decided to paint her kitchen while I was there and this is the finished product. She loves the blue color and it went really well with all of her home decor.

Before, it was painted all white and the blue really gave it some definition.

The day after we finished painting, she took me to the older section of the town. They had a bunch of antique stores and this fun shop called Egg Meyers General Store. We spent a couple of hours in there. So many fun things to buy and not enough luggage space. Oh well, there is always next year! We ate in a place that was an old brothel. Very fancy inside and the waiter/owner was a little weird, but the food was good! This is the outside of the store. It's cute!

The only airport in San Angello is a little regional one and so flights in are really expensive. I flew to San Antonio which was about 3 1/2 hours away. So she and I drove back the day before my flight and spent the night. We were going to go to the river walk and a few other places, but it started raining. We were able to get out really quick and get a picture at the temple. I'm not sure what happened to the picture I was in, but it's just as well.

I've been home for a couple of weeks and decided to bottle some pinto beans. I've heard that if your jars aren't sealing to turn them upside down. I did and they sealed!

This is what I do in between cleaning, bottling beans, painting, and watching TV. I start petting on her side and this is how she always ends up.

Andy's favorite way to pass the time. Lounging on the bed with x-box controllers. Oh to be young and carefree!!

I caught Tommy in the recliner in our bedroom. When he's not golfing, he's watching golf. Right now the Ryder Cup has been on and he has recorded as much as he could.

No comments about the fact that my bedroom is still ugly, white, flat paint. I am still digesting the whole "what color do I paint it" thing!

You are a great friend to help paint! You ladies did a nice job and how fun to visit a friend and pick up right where you left off.
